Return from Arkansas
Arkansas : The Natural State
Better late then never, I made it home.
Fort Smith International airport was quite the most extraordinary airport I've ever visited.
None of that uncomfortable utility furniture here, if you need to take a load off, you sit on the sort of comfortable, high-backed chairs my gran used to watch the world go by from her sheltered housing.
The toilet cubicles hid another luxury. The push of a button beside the toilet caused the plastic sheath covering the toilet seat to 'scroll' and be replaced by fresh plastic. No need to squat.
Some of the comfy high-backs even made it in here incase you felt like tarrying a while in the gents.
The hotel was indeed wireless enabled, and very comfortable. With the air-conditioning maxed to help us deal with the 90F plus temps, it felt like working in a very comfortable server room. I must admit however to never having considered actually sleeping in a server room. And so it was that I wakened the first night freezing atop my bed, and struggled to get back to sleep with the din of the aircon.
